Message :If a high HP Z floored it, they'd be bouncing off their rev limiter pretty soon. We don't have the gearing to use that much power in a cruise.
:You'd have to be cruising at more than 200 mph to use 600 rwhp continuously.

I witnessed this, and confirmed this with member RSR who also has done long high speed runs over a period of many miles;

In our case, stock turbos, at 138mph, we were reving 5700rpm steady... boost was creeping between 1 and 3psi.
In ryans case, big monster hooga-booga turbos, at 160mph, he too was in boost most of the time.

That being said, turbos are generally not designed to be a long term power adder. Hense the need for RSR to add a dry sump oil system.

To keep this thread relative, I too believe that Wagz car would not last the entire trip. Whether it be a power issue, or an ancillary problem due to his vehicle weight and suspension set up.
Wagz car was tuned on the dyno, for max HP.
It wasn't tuned for good HP for long drives. There are many variables involved, including aero losses, his FMIC, his suspension setup...etc...

I've never run one of those across the country runs (gumball or the playerclub(?) one)... but I would assume they are at 100mph just as much as they are at 60mph.

I think that's why you DONT see highly modified cars in those events. Just straight stock, from the factory, 'super' cars. I would LOVE to see a tuner Z run the event.

OH, if you don't believe me, read Andi Baritchi tale of whoa from the One lap of America. Read about all the ancillary problems they ran into on both years events (2002/2003).

I hate to side with Kyle on this, because I consider Sean a good friend... but I just think his car would need a lot of detuning for it to be a contender in such an event.
